Social Impact Conference will be held at NIghtingale Building
Social Impact Conference
Saturday 28th November 2015 – Social Impact Conference – 10am-4pm
Building 67, Nightingale Building
The Southampton Social Impact Conference brings together an impressive network of socially-oriented businesses and community leaders with the shared goal of driving sustainable social change. It is the first time this event took place in Southampton and we hope to host many more.
Brought to you by Southampton Hub and the Southampton University Entrepreneurship and Business Society Fish on Toast, the conference bought light to the many tools of innovation and models for social change. We looked at pathways into social impact, international development, fueling the growth of social entrepreneurs, how to raise money for your cause and how to start a social enterprise.
The conference was filled with speakers from a variety of social enterprises, socially aware organisations and entrepreneurs with social innovations. Throughout the day people had the chance to network with the speakers. We also held a showcase where charities and non-profits will informed students about opportunities they had on offer and the importance of what they do.
What to expect for next time?
The exciting conference focus will span across various sectors and draws from the experience of various professionals in the industry. Together we’ll explore questions around social impact and business: what works, how, why and how can you get involved?
The day-long event will also feature pitches from cutting edge social entrepreneurs and time for networking.
Last year our keynote speakers were long-time social impact entrepreneur Alan Frampton, founder of the ethical jewellery company CRED Jewellery, and impact innovator Neomi Bennet, founder of Neo Innovations UK and creator of the anti-embolism stocking aid Neo-Slip.
